~Authors note~
It seems that my save file is corrupted ¬_¬.
I am absolutely mad. I have no idea how I am going to fix this but I have to either try from an earlier back up or restart the whole town which I am so not happy about doing.
So please bear with me for the time being.

Generation 1; Chapter 9
I was euphoric. Still in a high from giving myself to Ali. I couldn't concentrate at all, I had to get all my clothes ready. Well, we had all decided it should be normal clothes since it wouldn't look as conspicuous. I grabbed my rucksack and just waited 'till I heard Mocha leave for work. Dad would be back later. He checked up on me but I left pillows under my blanket so that he wouldn't notice.

We were all meeting on the empty road just outside the Tussock's. There were no houses here as the road was on a slope. It was perfect. As soon as I saw Ali a grin spread on my face.

"Ooh, someone's happy to see Ali." Myrtle had her mean head on again.
"Everyone focus. We can all have fun and games when we are back at the base, got it!" I just loved it when Ali took charge. "Right, we are going to go through the front door. Tyrian and Indigo, once I get us in you go upstairs and grab anything up there worth grabbing, so that's jewellery, money, okay? Myrtle, you need to be on watch, and Nilly you are with me down stairs, got it?"

We all nodded. Myrtle got in position behind a large bush and signaled for us to come closer.

Ali ran towards the door and got out his lock picking tools. In next to no time he opened the door. We were in. Tyrian and Indigo slowly crept upstairs while we looked in the front room. There were small trinkets everywhere. I started to grab all that could fit in my bag, Ali did the same.

There was a loud thud from upstairs. The boys ran downstairs.
"Quick, we got to go, they are up!" I didn't know who shouted this as my heart was busy leaping out of my chest. What were we doing!!
All of a sudden several loud thumps came down the stairs and a groan echoed around the house. It was Anzac Tussock. He had fallen down the steps and was lying on the floor.

"We need to go!" Ali grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the door. I resisted.
"We can't leave him, he's hurt." I was so scared, what happened if he died? "Please let me call for help, I'll use their phone. Please, we can't just go!"
605
"Anzac, where are you?" A voice called from the darkness upstairs. I forgot that Maize his wife was here. At least he wouldn't be on his own. I let Ali pull me out of the house.
We ran together holding hands when we realized that no one was chasing us, and our running slowed to a walk. We enjoyed the walk, the moon was high in the sky and the stars so bright. I was still worried for Anzac but his wife was there. He would be fine. I just wanted to get that out of my head and just bask in this moment with Ali.

He walked me all the way back to my house since we couldn't go straight to the Base. Just before leaving me he kissed me good night.

As I walked in my Dad was sat at the table facing the door. Uh oh.

"Where have you been?" As I was about to answer him more questions were fired at me. "Who were you with? Did you know that your curfew was over 2 hours ago?" All of these pointless questions.

"I wanted to go for a run and I didn't have my watch with me!" I thought it was best to answer his questions even if I knew I would get shouted at. "Dad, I wasn't with anyone! Why won't you trust me?" Making myself sniffle as if I was going to cry hopefully would get me to my room quickly.
...and it worked.
He let me go to my room. The fake tears always worked. Chucking my bag heavy with trinkets under my bed, I breathed a sigh of relief. It was over. My first house hit. It didn't end as well as I had thought it would, but still- what a rush.

A big thank you to ShaliANel for designing the Tussocks ... Sorry about what happened to Anzac. She has two must read blogs here and here.

Generation 1: Chapter 8
Author's note: Adult content warning.
**********************************************************************************************************************
Every spare moment I had I was at Ali's place where he taught me everything I needed to know. He taught me different cons they had done, which I wrote down in my little notebook.
By now we had a spare room that was filled with Dad's and Mocha's exercise machines. So when I was at home I was being trained by Dad. Oh, he didn't know what I was training for. He thought that I had finally found my calling to go into the acrobat business like him. I let him keep thinking that.

It was amazing. I felt more confident, like I was taking my life into my own hands. I was able to run miles without getting tired, climb with twice my body weight. Even though Myrtle was still snubbing me, she at least realized that I could do this.

It was time to take me out into the field. They started me off with just taking things from public places. 'As long as you look like you are supposed to be there no one will notice you' was what Ali taught me in one of his earlier lessons. So that was what I did. I walked in, grabbed what I wanted and walked out. It was all random stuff; chairs, mirrors, at one point a barbecue. No gold, no money, nothing like that, just junk. But that junk could be sold to make the money, or kept. The best stuff I kept in my room which was beginning to feel homely even if I was barely there.
We went out everyday to get something and it had gotten easier and easier. As the days went by I stole more and more at a time.
Maybe that was where I had gone wrong. I had gotten cocky, too sure of myself. I wanted more.
I had gotten Ali on his own away from the others.
"We need to do something different. It's all good and well taking from public places but the stuff is all the same. We can do better if we hit houses." I wanted it so much.
"Are you ready for houses? You have only just started out." He didn't look worried or concerned. He knew I was ready and so did I.

"I am ready. Come on, we can do this." When that smile of his came onto his face I knew I would get it my way. He led me back to the others and I sat on the couch next to Tyrian. He told the others about us starting on houses.

"Ah, back to houses. You know, I was getting pretty sick of all the parks and the shops. I found the perfect place the other day." He grabbed a few photos and stuck them on the wall. It was Drizzle's next door neighbours, the Tussocks. They were retired, he was a renowned surgeon and she used to be on the local news network. It was fantastic, they were loaded. I was getting excited. "I have cased this place already. There is no cctv, no alarms. There is a dog but he is old, he's no bother. Ali, what do you think?"

He looked for a moment at me. I knew with my pleading eyes he would do it and I was right.
Over the next month we had gone over everything. Ali put the emphasis on getting in and out. He made sure that we could carry a heavy load (since none of us could drive). We also went over the escape routes over and over again. Where we had to meet up and where we had to put the stuff, since bringing it straight here to the base was out of the question. I wrote it all down in my notebook, so that I could remember it all. It was a lot to think about.
The night before the hit we had gone through everything one last time. Indigo and Myrtle had gone off to one of the bedrooms. They had somehow merged into a couple. I honestly didn't know what anyone could see in her but I guess Indigo could see through that tough exterior. Tyrian went off out back. It just left me and Ali.

"Listen, no one would think badly of you if you backed out. You don't have to do this!" I knew he was concerned but I could see the fire in his eyes. He wanted to do the hit as much as I did.
"I am a big girl, Ali. I know what I want. Doing this is making me feel alive." I scooted along the sofa towards him, my hand lightly brushed his. He turned to face me and that's when I really looked at him. Of course I had seen his face before but not like this, it was different. I just couldn't help myself, I leaned over and kissed him.

I pulled back, shocked at what I had done. He was my first kiss. I always thought I would be taken on a date before I kissed a guy but it felt so right. His hand reached up towards my face and smiled a smile that made me melt.
"Nilly, you don't know how much I wanted for you to kiss me." He leaned back in to kiss me. This time I didn't pull back. His hand gently stroked my arm. Somehow I ended up straddled across his lap. He stopped me. "We can stop right now if you want or..." I shushed him.

"I told you, I know what I want." I picked his hand up and led him into the spare bedroom.
It was indescribable.

Generation 1; Chapter 7
At first we started out video chatting every day. As the days went by I was lucky if I had gotten nudged on Simbook.

I had enough of staying in my room waiting for his light to turn green. I wanted to get out. So I did. I hung out with Ali, and without Drizzle there we kind of went a bit wild. It started with a few harmless pranks. Wooppee cushions under the teacher's chair, rigging the school sinks to explode and overflow when people used them. We used to do this with Drizzle but he always reined us in. So without him we didn't know when to stop.

I was permanently in detention and my school work suffered. I used to be a B grade student and now- well, let's just say there wasn't a grade low enough for what I had been getting. Dad had been going on at me for wrecking my life because my grades weren't good enough, but I just didn't care. It was time for me to have a little fun.
Ali introduced me to some of the guys he hung around with when he wasn't with me or Drizzle. I had never seen them before. He didn't like to talk about his family or his other friends and we hadn't pushed. The two guys looked like they belonged in one of those street gangs. The girl... she looked hot and she definitely knew it.

"This is Indigo, Myrtle and Tyrian. Guys, this is Vanilla."
"My, she's a pretty 'lil thing. How come we haven't seen this precious flower before?" Myrtle smirked. I didn't think that Myrtle and I would be friends any time soon.
"Because then you would have had to compete for attention, Myrtle." Ali said this with such coldness in his voice. I wasn't sure who she was to him. I didn't think she was his girlfriend but he had never told me anything. What attention did he mean? Why was I thinking about all this? We were just friends, I shouldn't get jealous over this. He was allowed other female friends.

"Aww, so mean to me, Ali, you know I am playing." She purred. "Anyway, what is she doing here?"
"I can bring whoever I want here, got that, Myrtle? Any problems, Indigo? Tyrian?" Wow, I had never seen this side of Ali before. It was kind of funny that these tough looking guys were uncomfy when Ali went all alpha. "Come on, Nilly, I'll show you around." He put his arm around me and led me away.
We left them there as Alizarin took me around to show me the place and ended up in an old barn out back.
"I'm sorry about that, I didn't mean to act like that. If I hadn't then ... Well, lets just say that Myrtle cannot be nice to others and if she knows that you're not to be messed with then it would just be easier. The guys on the other hand... If they see that you're with me they won't try anything. They are both known womanisers! Other than that they are nice once you get to know them."

"Oh, I see" I didn't know whether to be pleased or insulted. "Hey you never told me how you knew them." I didn't think he would tell me anything but it didn't hurt to ask, right?
"If I told you, you wouldn't want to see me again." He looked ashamed, whatever it was must have been bad.
"Ali, come on, I am supposed to be your friend. Whatever it is can't be that bad, can it?"
"I met Tyrian and Indigo when I broke into this place."
"Hang on, you're telling me that you broke in here? How? Why were they here? What were you thinking?" I couldn't believe he was telling me this! I wanted to leave but at the same time I wanted to hear everything.

"I picked the lock, this place had been abandoned for a while. I had a rough time at home and I wanted a place that was all mine. Where I could be me. Tyrian and Idigo made this place theirs. They were so surprised I managed to break in that they kind of used me to 'help' them out. Then I showed them that I was a good leader and, well, here I am."
"Ok, what about Myrtle, how did she come to be here?" I was dreading the answer but I had to know.
"It's not what you think, she went out with Tyrian and she had a knack at keeping people busy so she stayed with us."

"Not what I think. I don't know what to think! You are telling me that you broke in here and you use Myrtle to keep people busy. Busy for what?" I couldn't help but raise my voice. I just couldn't understand why he had to do all this.
"We kind of steal things to make money. If there is someone near then Myrtle would keep them preoccupied while we finished. I know you are wondering why I am telling you this. I just didn't want to keep this a secret from you any more and, well, to be honest, look at what you can do. You can get in an out of a situation without getting caught."

"What, you want to use me, Ali, I don't know. It's not right, you are stealing, you can go to jail." I was horrified at the thought.
"No, I don't want to use you, Nilly. Come on, I would never do that to you. Don't tell me you never wanted to do something like this, after all you have been so mad at the world since your birthday. I figured this might be a way for you to get back at whatever it is that you are so mad at. If we do it right there is no chance of getting in trouble. Do you trust me?"
He was right in a way. I had felt so unfulfilled as of late and maybe this could... NO! What was I thinking, this was stupid. It was illegal. What would happen if we got caught? If I did it I could get money... Ah, just think of what I could buy with it all. I could even get my room expanded, couldn't I.
"Ali, I just... I just want to go home, okay?" This was too much for me to take.
"Sure, Nilly. Please think about it. I know that it's a big decision either way. I will still be friends with you no matter what."

I let him walk me to the road before I carried on alone. At least now I knew a bit more about Ali, even if it was something like this.
I kept thinking over and over about his proposal as I reached home. It was just too crazy and stupid, I shouldn't do it. I went straight to my computer and in my inbox. There was an email from Drizzle.

Hey Nilly,
France is AWESOME. I know I have told you that every time we talk but it really is. I have just been told that I am able to stay on for the rest of the school year. I am so excited, this means that I can stay with Ananas's family for longer! They really treat me as if I was their son. I hope that you and Ali are having fun. I really miss you guys.
Drizzle :)
I couldn't believe that he was staying longer. He said it was only six months. I picked up my phone and rang Ali and just said 2 words.

"I'm in."

Generation 1; Chapter 6
It was the start of the new school year. I had barely left my room since my birthday, or even seen Drizzle or Alizarin. I was moving up to go to the local High School. I wasn't looking forward to it, either. I just couldn't see the point any more.

"Hey stranger, where have you been hiding out?" Alizarin said as he ran to catch up to me with Drizzle in tow.
"Where have you been Nilly, we have been worried. I tried calling at your house but your dad said you didn't want to see anyone." It pained me to see Drizzle upset.
"I just haven't been in the mood to see anyone, Drizzle. I am sorry." I hadn't seen them for so long, they looked so different. More grown up.

"Hey cheer up, come on, new school year! What electives are you taking?" I just couldn't help but smile at Drizzle's enthusiasm. "Now that smile looks better. I was thinking of taking a language class, maybe French. Ooh, I also want to do the IT course but that fills up so fast. What about you, Ali?"

"I don't care what I do, I am just passing the time till I can travel when I am eighteen. Nilly, you're so quiet!"
I wasn't going to tell them everything. Well, not yet anyway. It would be too hard to tell them about it.
So the day went okay. I went to my lessons. I chose Critical Thinking and Physical Education as my electives. It wasn't because I wanted to do them, they were the only lessons left.
There were a few from my old school in my class, luckily no Plum. She went to one of those boarding schools. It was a positive, I guess.
That was my life for a few months. Going to school, then going to Drizzle's after school, then home. I still hadn't gotten over the news but at least this routine kind of numbed the pain.
I knew Drizzle and Alizarin knew that I still wasn't myself. Even when I had a smile on my face they could see through it. They didn't think I noticed their looks to each other, but I did.

I was called over to Drizzle's house. He sounded nervous. I didn't know what he wanted. I tried to think back to all the times we hung out but I just couldn't remember if he said anything that gave me a clue to what he wanted me for. As I was walking to Drizzle's house I wondered if Ali would be there since we did everything together.
I arrived at the house and Drizzle met me at the door. He didn't look as if he had slept.

"Is Ali here yet?"
"No, I didn't call him. I just want to speak to you!" He went and sat on the sofa. I went over and joined him. Whatever he wanted to talk to me about - it must have been pretty serious.

"Um..." I just stared at him 'till he finished his sentence " I wanted to tell you but I don't know what you would think. But I have been accepted to go on the exchange trip to France for six months."
I couldn't believe my ears, Drizzle was leaving me.
"I know you have been unhappy, Nilly, and I want to stay here with you. But this is the opportunity of a lifetime. It's not for long either. So what do you think?"
"Wow, France, that's a long way. Good for you, just, wow." This was not what I had expected. Another person leaving.
"You're not mad?"
"No, why would I be?" I had to force a smile. If this is what he wanted then so be it. "When do you leave?"
"Next month, I can't wait! My new exchange buddy is called Ananas. She seems absolutely nice, we have been talking since we found out we were buddies."
"That is nice. Uh, Drizzle, I have to go."
"Sure, you would tell me if you weren't okay with this, right?"
"Yeah, 'course. Bye."
I left his house to go home. All I could think about was that it was me that was sending people away. It must have been, otherwise why would everyone leave? I tried to cry but the tears never came.
The day came when we saw Drizzle off. I didn't want to go but Alizarin made me. So off we went to Drizzle's house with Dad and Mocha.
The Giallo's had made a huge party out of the occasion. They were excited with his opportunity. I put on my best fake smile. (It seemed I had gotten better at those). I tried my best for Drizzle, knowing how happy he was.
Ali stuck with me to keep me company. It was nearing 4 o'clock and Drizzle had to get to the airport. While everyone was saying their goodbyes I stayed back. When all the byes had been said Drizzle looked at me and I just couldn't help it, I ran into his arms. Tears rolled down my face as he held me in his arms. This guy, the one that had stood by me when everyone else had bullied me, my first real friend and he was leaving.

"Nilly, don't cry we can still talk over the computer and we can send letters. It's not for long, I'll be back before you know it."
I wanted to ask him not to leave, but with all the crying I couldn't speak. When my arms finally let go of him he got into the car and drove out of town.

Generation 1; Chapter 5
"Oh."

Nilly-Bean,
I am so sorry! Please don't hate me!
Mum
Sugar
I just- I just couldn't believe what I had read. My Mum wasn't my Mum? Why didn't my Dad tell me? Why was I only finding out about this now!

I ran out of my room and out the front door. I didn't even hear my dad when he tried to tell me to stop. I just ran and ran, not knowing where I was going.

I somehow ended up at the beach. I had needed time to think, to process it all. Skipping stones into the water calmed my mind just a bit. All that kept going through my mind was that it wasn't possible to have two mothers that didn't want me. Was it?

I stayed out all night, sleeping on a bench. The morning sun was shining bright on my face. A sinking feeling rolled over my stomach as I remembered the letter. I couldn't forget it all even if I tried. I thought about going home but I couldn't face my dad. I didn't want to see Drizzle or Alizarin, either. So I just stayed by the beach staring out to sea.

I didn't know how long I sat there. Minutes? Hours? I heard someone walking behind me. I turned and looked. It was the last person I wanted to face and yet it was the one I wanted to hug to take away the pain.

"I wouldn't have thought you would come here."

"Dad, I don't understand!" The tears that I had been holding in started to stream down my face. "What did you do? Why didn't either of them want me?"
"Listen, I am not going to pretend that I was a good guy. I did mess up, but don't you for one minute think that you are not wanted. I love you, that is all that matters! Both of your mums are idiots for missing out on knowing you. I think it's best that we go home for now, you look frozen."
As we walked back home in silence, my tears seemed to have stopped rolling down my face. I saw Mocha's worried face as I passed her to go to my room. The room was still decorated with balloons, a sad remnant of what was the happiest I had been in a long time.

"Did you know?" My voice was barely audible.
"I don't know what you mean. Where did you go, Vanilla?" She sounded as if she genuinely cared. I was somewhat glad that Dad hadn't told her. I headed into my room without answering her questions.

Through the door I heard Dad tell her everything.
"Poor Vanilla! Is there anything I can do?"
"No, I don't think there is. It's best we just let her have the time to sort out her head. I knew I shouldn't have given her that letter!"
"You did what was best. I am sure she will understand that."
I didn't want to hear any more, so I drowned them out with my MP3 player that Drizzle's family had given me. I stayed in my room for the rest of the day, even ignoring the calls for dinner 'till the night came and sleep came over my body.

Nilly-Bean,
I am hoping that your father gives this to you when you are old enough to understand!
I did not mean for you to find out this way, but I am not your mother!
I did not mean for you to find out this way, but I am not your mother!
Several years after we were married, your father had a whirlwind 'romance'. When I found out I wanted to leave him. He promised that it didn't mean anything and that he only loved me, so I stayed. About a year later a knock on the door changed our lives. The other woman who your father had 'found' was on our doorstep with a baby in her arms. That baby was you. She was crying. She asked us to take you in. She said she couldn't cope on her own. I wasn't too happy with this idea, I wanted children of my own, not some child from an affair! Not to mention how the neighbours would react!
But we took you in. It was so hard to love you when I couldn't even look at you. Your father absolutely adored you. His eyes always lit up when he cradled you in his arms. I just couldn't bear it.

When we decided to try for a baby of our own I thought it could patch up what happened. So we tried and we tried and it just would not work. I didn't think our relationship could work through this much heartache, so I threw myself into work. Your father had to go back to work, too, so we hired Azure as our nanny.
It wasn't at first but I started to get feelings for Azure. She made me feel. Of course I still had feeling for your father but I never fully trusted and loved him after what he had done.
When we got caught I realized that I could not go on any more. I loved Azure and she loved me. I decided it was best that I left. It wasn't fair to you for me to stay.
I am so sorry! Please don't hate me!
